Most Russian doctors have already been vaccinated against COVID-19 or are going to be vaccinated in the near future, a survey conducted by the Doctor's Handbook mobile application showed, Kommersant writes. 35% of respondents admitted that they are not ready to be vaccinated.
Doctor's Handbook is a service for doctors that unites more than 450,000 users. The survey was conducted from 8 to 16 June. It was attended by 2177 doctors of various specializations using this mobile application.
Over 60% of the doctors surveyed have either already been vaccinated against coronavirus (41%) or are going to be vaccinated in the near future (24%). Most often, they make the decision to vaccinate themselves - 41%.
But at the same time, 46% of respondents faced in one form or another coercion to be vaccinated by employers. So, under pressure from the team or the employer, 8% of the respondents had to be vaccinated. The very idea of compulsory vaccination is not supported by doctors. According to 45.4% of the doctors surveyed, it can change the attitude towards vaccinations against COVID-19 in a negative direction. Only 17.6% reported that this would change their attitude towards vaccination for the better and would generally help the vaccination campaign.
Two-thirds of the respondents would advise relatives and friends to get vaccinated. 35% say it will help them stay healthy, while 29% say it's the only way to stop the epidemic. 37% of doctors would not advise to be vaccinated, as "they are not sure about the effectiveness of the vaccine."
