The World HEALTH Organization (WHO) is investigating whether there is a link between cases of myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle) and vaccination against the CORONAVIRUS with a drug from Pfizer/BioNTech. This was announced at a briefing by the assistant to the HEAD of WHO, Mariangela Simao, broadcast was on YouTube.

“We are monitoring through the Vaccine Safety Strategic Advisory Group. <...> We find out whether myocarditis is a consequence of vaccination or there is no relationship, ”she said.

According to a WHO representative, information about such cases comes from the United States and Israel. Shimao promised that the organization would later publish the results of its study.

On June 10, CNBC reported that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported 275 cases of heart muscle inflammation in people aged 16 to 24 as of the end of May after receiving a second dose of a vaccine from Pfizer or Moderna. According to the department, scientists expected that there would be significantly fewer such cases in this age group: from 10 to 102.
