Vologda governor announced the vaccination of Santa Claus

The Governor of the Vologda Oblast Oleg Kuvshinnikov, in the CHEZ program on the RBC TV channel, announced that Santa Claus had been vaccinated against CORONAVIRUS infection.

“Santa Claus was the first to take root and we will celebrate his birthday on November 18 in Veliky Ustyug,” he said.

On the same day, as Kuvshinnikov said, the first New Year tree will be lit in Veliky Ustyug, and festive New Year events will also be launched and Father Frost's tour around the country will begin. The governor said that both residents of the region and tourists can attend these events using QR codes, PCR tests or certificates of illness.

Speaking about the situation with covid-19 in the region, Kuvshinnikov announced a huge burden on medical institutions. “But the most important task that we set ourselves is to provide 100% medical support to those who need it, and therefore we are ready to deploy an additional 700 beds for specialized hospitals, which are now 82% full <.. .> in case of emergency development of the situation,” he said.
