The Vologda region improved its position in the National investment climate rating

This year the region took 24th place, while a year ago it was 77th.

The national rating of the state of the investment climate in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation assessed the efforts of authorities at all levels to create a comfortable environment for business and identifies best practices, and its results stimulate competition in the struggle for investment at the regional level.

The national rating is formed by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives to Promote New Projects (ASI) together with leading business associations, the press service of the Government of the Vologda Oblast reports.

This year, specialists have changed their approach to the formation of the rating. Now one position can be occupied by several regions.

“During the distribution of places in the National Rating, the main criteria were the reduction of time for passing various business procedures, support for small and medium-sized businesses, the availability of loans and the reduction of administrative pressure on companies. The national investment climate rating for 2020 was compiled under difficult conditions, while the regions of RUSSIA not only did not worsen, but improved their results. The results of the rating of the Vologda Oblast showed the following positive trends: the performance indicators of institutions that ensure business protection, financial and non-financial support for small and medium-sized businesses have improved,” Deputy Governor Vitaly Tushinov explained.

40 out of 85 entities improved their index in the ranking compared to 2020, despite the difficulties that arose due to covid-19 . In the regions, it was possible to achieve a reduction in administrative pressure on business.
