In the near future, Abkhazia will receive assistance from Russia in the treatment of patients with coronavirus infection against the backdrop of a new outbreak of COVID-19 in the republic. This was stated by President Aslan Bzhaniya at a meeting of the Security Council.

According to him, during negotiations with Moscow, an agreement was reached that a military mobile hospital with 150 beds is again sent to Abkhazia. Bzhaniya instructed the head of his administration, the prime minister and the heads of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Defense to decide on the location of the hospital and create living conditions for Russian military doctors within two days.

In addition, the President of Abkhazia said that he was in touch with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin regarding the delivery of the second batch of the Sputnik V vaccine to the republic.

“We are a priority and this issue will be resolved,” the head of state said.
