The authorities of Volgograd ruled out the death of the patient due to problems with oxygen

The death of a patient in the Volgograd infectious diseases hospital was not caused by problems with the oxygen supply. This is stated in the message of the health committee of the Volgograd region, received by RBC. Earlier, Bloknot Volgograd published information that a man died while changing oxygen cylinders in the coronavirus hospital of the Traktorozavodsky district of the city.

The department clarifies that a preliminary check showed that the man was admitted to the hospital in a moderate condition on October 27, and the next day he was connected to oxygen support due to a deterioration in health. After that, the patient was transferred to the resuscitation and intensive care unit, and on November 1, he was diagnosed with total lung damage.

“For two weeks he received the necessary treatment, all this time he was on oxygen support. Together with him, other patients were connected to the general oxygen system in intensive care. All patients are connected to a single oxygen supply system, there were no interruptions in the oxygen supply, the regional health committee added. — Despite intensive therapy, the man's condition deteriorated sharply on November 13. Within 40 minutes, the doctors took the necessary resuscitation, but the man died.”

According to the profile committee, infectious disease hospitals in the Volgograd region are provided with oxygen cylinders "with a margin", their deliveries to hospitals are carried out by four local manufacturers.
