The authorities of St. Petersburg will deploy additional beds for patients with COVID

From May 18, the number of beds for patients with CORONAVIRUS will be increased in St. Petersburg due to an increase in the number of cases. This was stated by the vice-governor of the city Oleg Ergashev. His message is given on the website of the administration of St. Petersburg.

“In recent days, there has been an increase in the intensity of the spread of infection. Over the week, the number of new cases of the disease increased by 3.5%, hospitalizations - by 27%," Ergashev said.

On May 18, 102 additional beds will be deployed in the transforming pavilion of the Hospital for War Veterans. At the same time, 19 of them will be intensive care units. From May 20, the authorities plan to resume the work of pavilion No. 5 of the temporary infectious diseases hospital at Lenexpo. There are 97 beds, of which seven are resuscitation beds. Another 260 beds have been prepared at the hospital No. 38 named after. N.A. Semashko. They will be deployed on May 21st.
