The authorities of Perm are planning to buy the building of the Palace of Culture named after. Chekhov for 85 million rubles.

Due to the shortage of club-type cultural institutions in the Ordzhonikidzevsky district, the authorities of Perm want to purchase a recreation center named after. Chekhov. The cost of the acquisition is 85 million rubles.

The object is planned to be used for the activities of a cultural and leisure institution subordinate to the Department of Culture and Youth Policy, assigning the right to the municipal budgetary cultural institution of the House of Culture "Rodina". This was reported by the press service of the City Duma of Perm.

As the HEAD of the department of culture and youth policy Vasily Golovin noted at a meeting of the investment commission of the Perm City Duma, in the future, in the building of the Palace of Culture named after. Chekhov can be moved by the Rodina club. 

“We see the expediency of acquiring the building right now. In the future, it may rise in price, and Gaiva is a dynamically developing area. Given that there are not enough seats in the Rodina cinema hall, we consider it necessary to purchase the palace,” said Eduard Khairullin, deputy head of the Perm administration.

It is assumed that the cost of operating the building will amount to 18 million rubles. However, as Golovin noted, the institution will be autonomous and will earn about the same amount.
