covid confirmed as leading cause of death; COVID is highly likely to be the leading cause of death; coronavirus did not become the main cause of death, but had a significant impact on the development of fatal complications; coronavirus did not become the main cause of death and did not significantly affect the course of the disease.

Earlier, from the monthly data of Rosstat, it followed that 104.8 thousand people died from coronavirus as the main cause in 2020 (the first and second categories of “coronavirus” mortality). And in 58.3 thousand deaths in 2020, the coronavirus was registered at the time of death, but did not become the main cause, followed from the monthly data.
