The authorities discussed the new name of the document with QR codes

The Kremlin and the government are discussing the possible names of the document, according to which citizens vaccinated against CORONAVIRUS, officially ill and having a medical exemption from vaccination will be able to visit public places when restrictions are introduced due to the coronavirus epidemic. RBC was told about this by two sources close to the presidential administration and an interlocutor close to the government.

At the same time, the authorities plan to minimize the use of the term "QR code" in public rhetoric, two sources close to the Kremlin said.

A QR code is just a tool for transmitting information, like a flash drive, for example, a federal official tells RBC. Using a QR code, you can find out data about a person's vaccination or past illness. The document itself, which allows for a significant expansion of covid restrictions, should be called something else, he adds.

Currently, with the help of sociological research, various options are being tested for what name could be used in RUSSIA for a document for vaccinated and officially ill citizens when restrictions are introduced, RBC sources say. Among the options being discussed, according to two interlocutors of RBC, are “health passport”, “health certificate”, “green passport” (Green pass), “covipass”, “sanitary passport”, etc.
