Emergency and emergency care for children in Moscow will be provided in full, and planned care may be resumed earlier depending on the situation with covid-19 , RBC was told in the capital's HEALTH department.
“In Moscow, the provision of planned medical care to children with conditions that are urgent (with oncological, hematological and others that do not allow delay) does not stop. <...> In addition, emergency medical care (in case of an immediate threat to life. -) is and will be provided in full, without exception, to all children, ”the department said.
The department clarified that the decision to reduce planned hospitalizations of children applies only to cases where the hospitalization of a child is not urgent, but carries a greater risk for him to become infected with CORONAVIRUS. As noted in the department, half of the children hospitalized with COVID-19 were transferred from other hospitals, where they received planned treatment for other diseases.
“This is a temporary measure, which was introduced for no more than three weeks. If the epidemiological situation allows, of course, we will resume the planned admission of such patients to hospitals earlier," the Department of Health said.
