Moscow authorities allowed the emergence of the fourth wave of COVID-19

The probability of a fourth wave of coronavirus in the autumn in Moscow is very high. This was stated by the head of the health department Alexei Khripun, reports TASS.

“We clearly know what will happen now in September, and the probability of a fourth wave is very high,” he said, stressing that over the previous three waves of COVID-19 , the city authorities quickly learned how to repurpose coronavirus hospitals.

“In what order, which medical institutions, which polyclinics, which CT centers are started [to work with coronavirus patients], in what order, at what level of incidence, at what level of emergency calls and hospitalizations — this technology is very well developed as back and forth,” added the head of the Department of Health.

Earlier, the chief physician of the hospital in Kommunarka, Denis Protsenko, also suggested that a fourth wave of coronavirus cases in Russia is possible. In his opinion, this can happen in late September - early October. “We are on the verge of a seasonal outbreak that is not unique to covid. I'm talking about the flu and other SARS. The coincidence of certain factors - the season, the return from vacation and the beginning of the school year - may create the prerequisites for the tension of this situation in late September - early October, ”he said.
