The Cypriot authorities recalled the recognition of Russian vaccination certificates

Cyprus recognizes Russian vaccination certificates, and Russians who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 do not need to take a coronavirus test upon arrival on the island. This was announced in an interview with RIA Novosti by the Minister of Tourism of Cyprus Savvas Perdios.

“If someone is vaccinated [with the Russian vaccine], the test is not needed,” he said.

According to him, in order for an unvaccinated citizen to enter Cyprus from Russia, he must have two negative tests for coronavirus, “because Russia is still in the “red category” of countries.” Perdios clarified that one PCR test must be done 72 hours before arrival in Cyprus, and the second test - when the traveler has arrived in the country.

The minister also added that if the epidemiological situation in Russia improves in the future, it will be transferred to the “orange” category of countries, then it will be possible to come with only one test.

“In Cyprus, 65% of the population has been vaccinated <...> Movement is free, restaurants, hotels, theme parks, all the services that a tourist from abroad may need are open,” the head of the Ministry of Tourism summed up.

Cyprus eased restrictions due to coronavirus Society

From May 10, tourists who have been vaccinated against the coronavirus, including Russians, can enter Cyprus without restrictions. So, in order to visit Cyprus, Russians need to obtain a flight permit on a special website (https://cyprusflightpass.gov.cy/) within 24 hours before arrival and have it printed out with them.

On June 28, the operational headquarters restored air links with several countries, including Cyprus.

From mid-May, Cyprus began to ease coronavirus restrictions in the country. On June 10, the government lifted the curfew in the country, opened nightclubs, entertainment centers, but visitors to such establishments must be vaccinated or pass a negative test.
