Indonesia may open the island of Bali for Russians in August, the country's Minister of Trade Muhammad Lutfi said in an interview with Izvestia. By this time, the authorities hope to vaccinate against covid-19 all the inhabitants of the island.
“We started [vaccinating local residents] from Ubud, from the mountainous part of the island. it will be the first area to meet all WHO standards for tourism. I hope that by the end of the summer we will be able to implement this strategy and we will be able to invite all Russians to Bali before the end of the summer, in August,” Lutfi said.
According to the minister, the state already has 75 million doses of the vaccine. With 2 million people living in Bali, the issue of vaccinating the population of the entire island "won't be a problem," he assured.
So far, the authorities plan to allow access to Bali only to tourists who have been vaccinated against the CORONAVIRUS. At the same time, they will be able to get vaccinated in their own country or immediately in Bali.
