In Argentina, a critical situation is developing with regard to vaccination against CORONAVIRUS due to delays in the supply of the second dose of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V, according to a letter from Argentine presidential adviser Cecilia Niccolini to RDIF First Deputy General DIRECTOR Anatoly Braverman, La Nasion reports.
The publication, referring to the text of the letter, claims that in order to vaccinate elderly Argentines, the authorities expected the delivery of at least 1 million doses of the second component of the vaccine on July 10 or 11. However, the batch arrived only on July 13 and in the amount of 550,000 doses.
According to Niccolini, Argentina's contract with RDIF is on the verge of termination because the country did not receive 5.5 million doses of the first component of Sputnik V and 13.1 million doses of the second in July.
Argentina disclosed data on side effects in 0.5% of those vaccinated with Sputnik Society
“At the moment, the entire contract is under threat of termination. We understand the shortage and production difficulties that arose a few months ago. But now, seven months later, we are still far behind schedule. In addition, we are starting to receive vaccines from other suppliers on a regular basis in accordance with schedules, ”the presidential adviser writes.
