France Visa Application Centers have stopped renewing Schengen visas that expired during the pandemic. This was reported by the French Embassy in Russia to TASS.

“We confirm that VFS Global centers that process applications for visas to France have temporarily suspended the possibility of submitting documents for renewal of multiple-entry Schengen visas for a period of three to five years issued by France and expired during the pandemic,” the diplomatic mission said.

The embassy explained that the suspension of applications is due to the fact that Paris has included Russia in the "red list" of countries for which more stringent conditions for entry are established.

“The French Embassy will be able to resume processing this type of visa as soon as the improvement of sanitary conditions allows Russia to be classified in a more favorable category,” the embassy added.

The French visa centers in Moscow, St. Petersburg , Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Krasnodar and Rostov-on-Don resumed accepting applications for the extension of Schengen visas expired during the pandemic on June 1.
