Work in the New Year
Roman Butuzov, managing partner of the MAMA Feta restaurant, believes that the relaxations associated with working on New Year's holidays are a plus for the industry, as it has become possible to hold events and work as usual, observing epidemiological safety measures.
“On New Year's Eve, we initially refused to work, since from the point of view of marginal profit it is not particularly profitable, although there are a lot of requests. We have a different approach, we'd better let the team rest, ”said Butuzov.
On December 17, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan amended the resolution on measures to prevent the spread of CORONAVIRUS. In the period from December 20 to January 10, catering will be able to work 2 hours longer: until 1.00, and not until 23.00. On New Year's Eve, the opening hours of establishments are allowed to be extended up to 3 hours.
The co-owner of the Van Gogh, 4 Kitchens, and On the Roof restaurants, Roman Poprotsky, said that their restaurants traditionally do not work on New Year's Eve. He stated that working on New Year's Eve is a "momentary benefit."
“The time limit has hit our industry the hardest, as people used to come in around 10pm and be able to dine with friends until midnight. And now they are forced an hour earlier. That is, we lost two landings - at 21 and 22 hours. Now all our employees are vaccinated, guests enter using QR codes. And for such institutions that comply with all requirements, it would be logical to allow them to work at night, ”he said.
