The incidence of CORONAVIRUS in Moscow began to rise even before the May holidays, but to understand the impact of the weekend on the situation with covid-19 , you need to wait another week. Alexander Chepurnov, a leading researcher at the Federal Research Center for Fundamental and Translational Medicine, told RBC about this.

“The increase [in the number of cases] began even before the holidays, it is on, but it should be noted that the expected spring wave is very smoothed. It is difficult to say whether the May holidays helped to reduce the incidence,” Chepurnov said.

According to him, in order to understand how the May holidays affected the situation, a pause is needed due to the incubation period of the coronavirus. To do this, you need to wait another week.

Chepurnov pointed to multidirectional processes that “should not have given impetus to either one or the other side”: on the one hand, people went to shopping centers, on the other, they went to the country.
