Residents of Bashkiria received 31.4 thousand credit cards in April 2022. This is 14% more than in March, when 27.5 thousand credit cards were issued to the residents of the republic. This is reported by the National Bureau of Credit Histories (NBKI).
In general, 900,000 new cards were issued across the country in April, which is 11.1% more than in March. A month earlier, 800 thousand credit cards were issued in the Russian Federation - the minimum figure for the year. Compared to April 2021, the number of issued credit cards decreased by 20.9% (in April 2021 - 1.14 million). In relation to February 2022, their number fell by 20% (1.12 million units).
Experts attribute the decline in unsecured lending to citizens with the first effects of sanctions and the economic shock. At the same time, analysts note that the credit card segment did not sink as much as other types of lending to individuals. For example, consumer loans in March fell by 60% at once.
“The relatively insignificant reduction dynamics is largely due to the fact that with the help of such a tool as a credit card limit, banks can effectively manage credit risk. On the other hand, a loan received with a credit card is of interest to citizens, primarily because of its technological effectiveness and convenience. In addition, attractive conditions apply for credit cards - a grace period for paying interest, cashback, and others, ”says Alexey Volkov, NBKI Marketing DIRECTOR.
Bashkiria was in the top five regions in terms of the number of credit cards issued in April. In the first place is Moscow (67.2 thousand units), in the second place is the Moscow region (49 thousand), in the third place is St. Petersburg (36.2 thousand), in the fourth place is the Krasnodar Territory (35.8 thousand).
As RBC Ufa reported, in February 2022, 36.6 thousand new credit cards were issued in Bashkiria, which is 26.1% higher than the same period last year. In general, in the country in the second month of the year, 1.11 million credit cards were issued, which is 22.3% more than a year earlier. Compared to January, the growth was 10.4%.
