The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has appointed Viktor Lyashko, Minister of HEALTH of the country, who previously served as the first deputy HEAD of the department and chief state sanitary DOCTOR, according to the Parliament's Twitter.

“The Verkhovna Rada has appointed Viktor Lyashko Minister of Health of Ukraine. He took the oath as a member of the Cabinet of Ministers, ”the message says. Lyashko's candidacy was supported by 262 people's deputies.

According to Obozrevatel, Lyashko said that the top priority for the department he heads will be to overcome the CORONAVIRUS pandemic. “The biological safety of citizens will become a priority for the ministry. By autumn, we will have a completely different readiness of the healthcare system,” he said.

According to the minister, by the end of 2021, everyone who wants to be vaccinated against covid-19 in the country will be able to do so. However, he clarified that at the same time, Ukraine needs its own production of drugs for vaccinations.
