WHO announced the beginning of the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in the world

The third wave of the CORONAVIRUS pandemic is beginning in the world, said the HEAD of the World HEALTH Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

He explained that after the last surge in the incidence of covid-19 in the world, the efforts of Europe and North America to vaccinate their citizens began to bear fruit and cases and deaths began to decline.

“Unfortunately, now these trends have changed and we are in the early stages of the third wave [of the pandemic],” he stated.

The number of cases worldwide is rising for the fourth week in a row, and the number of deaths from coronavirus infection is also rising again, the head of WHO said. Ghebreyesus called the spread of the delta strain of coronavirus (Indian version) the main growth driver. The situation, he said, is exacerbated by the increased mobility of people, as well as the inconsistent use of public health and protection measures by states.
