In connection with the attention to the problem, RBC Chernozemye decided to find out if the Voronezh OFAS is conducting an audit on the facts of overpricing of building materials. In response to questions from the publication, the anti-monopolists reported that organizations involved in the sale of building materials were sent "requests for information" necessary to assess the situation.
The department sent out letters to companies “on the need to show market participants social responsibility,” including on the issue of “responsible pricing, including preventing the creation of artificial shortages in the market, which could lead to further price increases.”
Experts noted that there is a list of industrial and technical products, consumer goods and services, the prices of which are subject to state regulation, approved by government decree No. 239. Building materials are not included in this list, as a result of which the price for them is not subject to state regulation and is set based on market conditions, minimum profitability, inflation, the level of purchase prices for raw materials, as well as supply and demand.
According to the results of the analysis, in case of detection of signs of a violation, the service promises to take "appropriate response measures." So far, only citizens have filed complaints about the rise in prices for building materials; there have been no complaints from developers.
On March 16, the governor of the Voronezh region, Alexander Gusev, presented the “priority initiatives” adopted in relation to road builders and developers. In particular, the head of the region spoke about the opportunity to support Voronezh manufacturers of building materials in the interests of builders. “Various mechanisms are being discussed, including state support for local manufacturers of building materials, which, in turn, guarantee stable prices for their products for developers. I instructed the building block of the regional government to collect feedback from market participants, ”Gusev’s telegram channel says.
In turn, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin spoke on March 31 about the most important anti-crisis measures taken to stop the rise in housing prices. According to him, one of the main factors influencing the growth in the cost of housing is inflation in the market of building materials and imported equipment, which is used at construction sites. Speaking of this, he stressed that the increase in the cost of a number of key goods was suspended and its resumption is not expected.
