The "Vector" called the difference between their two vaccines

The new vaccine from the Vector center, EpiVacCorona-N, differs from the EpiVacCorona vaccine in technological features of production. Tatyana Nepomnyashchikh, Deputy HEAD of the Vector Center of Rospotrebnadzor, spoke about this on the air of the Rossiya-24 TV channel.

“It [the vaccine] is practically no different from the previous version, the same active ingredients <...> the only thing is that two peptides are combined into one for ease of synthesis, ease of scaling,” she said.

According to her, the center has already begun the procedure for registering the vaccine. “Probably, the period is months, until the moment it enters the civil circulation,” she specified.

Nepomnyashchikh also added that the letter "H" in the name "EpiVakKorona-N" means "new", and also refers to the place where the vaccine was created - Novosibirsk.

Vector applied for registration of another covid-19 vaccine Society

EpiVacCorona was registered in RUSSIA on October 14, 2020, and its clinical trials began in December. It was created on the basis of artificially synthesized fragments of the S-protein of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. According to Rospotrebnadzor, the results of two phases of clinical trials showed that the effectiveness of the vaccine was 100%.

On June 28, the Vector Center submitted documents to the Ministry of HEALTH for registration of another drug, EpiVacCorona-N. The head of Vector, Rinat Maksyutov, said that the development of a new version of the vaccine is needed in order to enter large-scale production. He also clarified that the new vaccine will be administered three times: the interval between the first and second vaccination will be 21 days, and between the second and third - 60 days.

Earlier, Rospotrebnadzor also allowed the production of the vaccine from Vector abroad. “We are ready to transfer the technology for the production of a new vaccine not only to potential industrial partners in Russia, but also to foreign colleagues,” the ministry said at the time.

In total, four vaccines against CORONAVIRUS have been registered in Russia today - Sputnik V and Sputnik Light, developed by the Center. Gamaleya, "EpiVakKorona" from the Novosibirsk center "Vector" and the vaccine "KoviVak", developed by the Center. M.P. Chumakov.
