For the first time since the beginning of the year, the demand for masks has grown in Tatarstan

The demand for masks in Tatarstan over the past 2 weeks, from July 11 to July 24, has grown by 49%, the press service of the Wildberries marketplace reported. In the region in particular and in the country as a whole, sales of masks began to grow for the first time since the beginning of the year. Prior to this, sales of protection against viral infections were systematically declining. In the Russian Federation, the positive dynamics amounted to 109% compared to the same period in June. Also, the demand for skin antiseptics increased by a third.

The leaders in terms of growth in demand for disposable masks were Kaluga Region - by 267%, Astrakhan Region - by 218%, Kursk Region - 209%, Moscow (by 198%) and Tula Region (+195%).

In the Moscow region, the demand for masks increased by 155%, in St. Petersburg - by 110%, in the Krasnoyarsk Territory - by 144%, in the Krasnodar Territory - by 65%, in the Sverdlovsk Region - by 46%, and in Novosibirsk - by 50%.

According to the marketplace, the average price for a pack of 100 masks is 1.3 rubles. per unit of production. This indicator, according to the company, is at a minimum level. In 2020, the mask cost 31 rubles. a piece. 

In Tatarstan, according to the operational headquarters of the Russian Federation, collective immunity to covid-19 is decreasing . As of July 22, the level of herd immunity in Tatarstan is 6.9%. 2.47 million people completed the full course of vaccination, over 2.5 million Tatarstan residents were vaccinated with the first component.

At the same time, a week ago, the level of collective immunity to COVID-19 was estimated at 8.9%, a week earlier - 10.1%.

The mask regime has been suspended in Tatarstan since June 6, 2022. 

On July 12, the authorities of Moscow and St. Petersburg recommended that citizens wear masks in public places. On July 13, WHO issued a recommendation to countries around the world to return to the mask regime and other measures to prevent the spread of CORONAVIRUS infection.
