In Tatarstan, 22,000 members of precinct electoral commissions will be involved in the elections

In Tatarstan, over 2,800 polling stations will work in the upcoming elections. Elections will be held from 17 to 19 September. They will be monitored by 10,000 public observers

About 22,000 members of the election commission will work in Tatarstan during the election days. This was announced by the chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Tatarstan Andrey Kondratyev.

“In general, Tatarstan is ready for the elections. This is evident, and this is how experts assess it. All those whom we taught - observers and members of the election commission - number about 22 thousand people: a huge army of people who will work in a three-day voting marathon,” he said.

According to him, 100% of polling stations in Tatarstan are covered by video surveillance cameras. “The surveillance process is accompanied by the presence of cameras, smartphones and tablets. Each person becomes a media that gives information to the space. We can say that almost 100% of the sites are covered by video cameras,” he shared.

From September 17 to 19, voting will take place in the elections of deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Also in Tatarstan, in some districts, by-elections of deputies of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, by-elections of deputies of local self-government bodies will be held.

On July 31, Kondratiev, in Andrei Kuzmin’s “Interview Without a Tie” program, said that in Tatarstan, 47% of election commission employees had been vaccinated against CORONAVIRUS. The CEC of the region stated that it is not planned to oblige employees to be vaccinated before the elections of deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

He assured that there will be no restrictions for the population: people will not be required to have a vaccination certificate at the entrance to the polling station.

The same measures to ensure COVID-security as last year will be used: personal protective equipment, disinfection of premises, and so on. Elections will be held from 17 to 19 September.
