“Today, there are no public catering establishments ready to open after midnight. None of them received permission,” Marina Patyashina, head of the Tatarstan Rospotrebnadzor, said at a press conference at the Tatar-inform news agency.
According to her, the department will consider such applications from public catering within 3 working days.
On May 28, the authorities of the Republic of Tatarstan adopted a number of easing restrictions imposed due to the pandemic. Among them was the lifting of the ban on work from 0 to 6 o’clock for catering establishments, where all employees were vaccinated against COVID-19, except for those with a medical exemption.
Even earlier, in April, Galina Sharafutdinova, Executive Director of the Association of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Kazan, announced plans for mass vaccination of employees. She was supported by restaurateurs interviewed by RBC Tatarstan. Thus, the business expected to find a compromise with the authorities to further cancel the restrictions on work introduced due to COVID-19.
“Now we are preparing for the mass vaccination of catering employees. Owners, business leaders are ready to talk with employees. At first there was a fear about the vaccine, now the fears are gone. We even talked about the fact that if 70% of the employees are vaccinated, then on behalf of the association we will stick a sticker on the entrance group, and the guests will be calm, ”Sharafutdinova said then.
“Mass vaccination of catering employees is another initiative of restaurateurs who went to the Rospotrebnadzor of the Republic of Tatarstan for an explanation why we are still not working. The fact is that we are one of those few industries that have remained “out of work” so far, so to speak. All the rest are already working fine. Rospotrebnadzor said that the condition for opening establishments would be vaccination of at least 70% of employees. This can be called a kind of leverage from the department,” said RBC Tatarstan in April, the owner of Kazan ReLab establishments, Mr. Willard and Paloma Cantina Arthur Galaichuk.
