In the Stavropol Territory, the incidence of coronavirus increased by 17%

For the third week in the Stavropol Territory, an increase in the incidence of a new coronavirus infection at the level of 16-17% has been observed. This was announced at a briefing by the Minister of Health of the region Vladimir Kolesnikov.

“In the world, Russia and, in particular, in the Stavropol Territory, the most widespread — 25% — have received new substrains of COVID-19  — these are BA.4 and BA.5, which are characterized by rapid spread and high contagiousness, that is, contagiousness. And although these variants of the infection proceed more easily than the delta strain, neither the population nor the medical workers should be complacency, ”said Kolesnikov.

According to him, medical institutions are ready for a new wave of coronavirus. Currently, 210 beds have been deployed for the treatment of covid patients. Another 1,354 medical beds are ready to be deployed within 24 hours. According to the plan, within a week, if necessary, 5.1 thousand beds will be deployed, including repurposed ones.

“There is a stock of free medicines for 25.7 million rubles for outpatient covid patients. Another 44 million rubles were reserved for medicines at the warehouse of the regional Ministry of Health. In addition, the necessary drugs for children and adults are purchased for 55 million rubles. The stock of medicines for coronavirus in the hospitals of the region has been formed in the amount of about 1.5 billion rubles,” the minister said.

Currently, by order of the regional Ministry of Health, a regime of restrictive measures is being introduced in medical institutions (mask regimen, PCR and ICA testing of patients during hospitalization).

According to information on the website “Stopcoronavirus. rf”, since the beginning of the pandemic, 200,421 people have fallen ill with coronavirus in the Stavropol Territory, 192,464 people have recovered, and 7,090 people have died. As of July 21, the daily increase in cases of covid was 95 people.
