103,329 people are being treated for coronavirus infection in a hospital across the country. There are 18,557 patients in intensive care units.

The last time the number of hospitalizations reached 100,000 was last September, CNN reported, citing the US Department of Health. In November, the hospitalization rate fell to 40,000 on average per week, but then began to rise again in December and reached more than 73,000 hospitalizations in the last week of the month.

More than 142,000 people were admitted to US hospitals last January, according to CNN.
