Authorities of the Northern capital introduce QR codes for attending sports competitions

In St. Petersburg , the anti-currency restrictions are being tightened. According to Vice Governor Boris Piotrovsky, who oversees the sphere of sports culture in Smolny, on his TELEGRAM channel, in October, sports events in the city will be held with 30% capacity of the stands.

According to the official, the federal Rospotrebnadzor agreed on 30% occupancy of the Gazprom Arena, Sibur Arena, Ice Palace and the Yubileiny sports complex in October. “Only spectators who have a QR code confirming that they have been vaccinated against covid-19 or have had a disease over the past six months are allowed to enter sports arenas,” Boris Piotrovsky said.

In addition, the Chief Sanitary DOCTOR agreed to hold the 94th Pushkin Run. The oldest marathon Pushkin-Petersburg will be held on October 17th.

RBC Petersburg asked FC Zenit and HC SKA for comments on whether the introduction of QR codes will affect the attendance of their matches.

As RBC Petersburg previously reported, despite the statement by the HEAD of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova about the cancellation of “all mass events” in RUSSIA due to the increase in the incidence of COVID-19, not all concerts in the Northern capital have been canceled. For example, the register posted on the website of the Center for the Development and Support of Entrepreneurship currently contains more than 200 applications - and most of them have been approved (for all concerts and performances designed for the presence of more than 75 people in the hall, you need to obtain permission from the city committee for culture -).
