The Russian Orthodox Church expressed regret over non-compliance with anti-COVID measures in churches

Many churches do not comply with the measures taken to combat the CORONAVIRUS, said the HEAD of the department for external church relations of the Moscow Patriarchate after the presentation of the translation into Italian of the speeches of the 19th-century thinker Vladimir Solovyov about the writer Fyodor Dostoevsky, which took place in the Vatican. “Many churches do not observe these measures, unfortunately. I don’t know how many more people have to die and how many get sick so that those who remain alive have a conscience awakened and they start at least wearing masks, at least washing their hands, ”said Hilarion.

He also expressed regret that many people refuse to be vaccinated and thereby endanger their lives and the lives of others.

In April last year, the Russian Orthodox Church established penalties for clergy for violating anti-COVID measures. Patriarch Kirill promised to bring violators to the church COURT and church-administrative responsibility.
