Vaccination against CORONAVIRUS does not contradict Orthodox teaching, believers cannot refuse vaccination for religious reasons. This opinion was expressed by the HEAD of the synodal department of the Moscow Patriarchate for relations between the Church, society and the media, Vladimir Legoyda, during an interview with TV presenter Tina Kandelaki on RTVI.
“There is no religious component in this issue <...>. A person cannot justify his refusal to be vaccinated with Orthodox dogma,” Legoyda said, noting that the church stands for freedom of choice.

He noted that vaccination against covid-19 is the main way to "resist the spread of this infection."
Legoyda also recalled that Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' was vaccinated against coronavirus.
