Podcast "Mediazones" blocked in Russia

Service "Yandex. Muzyka" limited access to the Mediazona podcast (included in the register of foreign media agents) "*** *****" at the request of Roskomnadzor, RBC was told in the press service of Yandex.

“We received a notification from Roskomnadzor about the need to restrict access to this podcast. We also notified the authors about this, ”the message says.

The youth movement Vesna reported on its TELEGRAM channel that its website was also blocked. According to the traffic, the blocking occurred last night, the site is unavailable for subscribers of all operators. The organization noted that the site was not found in the list of prohibited resources (it really is not in the registry of Roskomnadzor.), however, access to it was possible only through a VPN.

“We are informed that availability is maintained on some operators,” Vesna wrote later.

At the time of writing, the site was available in normal mode. 

RBC turned to Roskomnadzor for a comment.

On the eve of "Spring" reported the detention of six activists of the movement in the framework of a criminal case on the creation of a non-profit organization that infringes on the personality and rights of citizens (part 3 of article 239 of the Criminal Code). The maximum penalty under this article is imprisonment for up to two years. 

Two activists were detained in St. Petersburg, another in Veliky Novgorod, they were transferred to Moscow, the report says. 

According to the organization, two more activists of the movement were detained in St. Petersburg in the case of "telephone terrorism" (part 2 of article 207 of the Criminal Code). The maximum punishment under this article provides for imprisonment for a period of three to five years.
