In Russia, 997 people with COVID-19 died per day

Over the past day in RUSSIA , 997 people have died from the effects of the coronavirus covid-19 . This was reported by the operational headquarters for the fight against coronavirus infection.

The number of deaths per day was close to the record that was set the day before. On October 16, the operational headquarters reported 1,002 coronavirus victims.

According to headquarters estimates, over the past 24 hours, the most deaths were registered in Moscow - 70. Followed by St. Petersburg (65), Krasnodar Territory (39), Sverdlovsk Region (37), Bashkiria (35), Stavropol Territory (33) and Rostov region (30).

The total number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic, according to the headquarters, is 223,312. Most of them since the beginning of the spread of infection have been recorded in Moscow (30,163), St. Petersburg (22,897) and the Moscow region (8344).
