In Russia, for the second day in a row, more than 28 thousand cases of COVID-19 were detected

Over the past 24 hours, 28,982 people have been infected with the coronavirus in RUSSIA, according to the operational headquarters. The last time more than 28 thousand new cases were recorded the day before, then covid-19 was detected in 28,694 people, follows from the data of the infection control headquarters.

1,790 people were hospitalized over the past day, which is 35.2% less compared to August 13, when the number of people taken to hospitals was 2,761 people.

In addition, 14,942 people recovered from coronavirus in the country during the day, 54 people died.

In total, since the beginning of the pandemic, according to the operations headquarters, 18.8 million cases of infection have been detected in Russia, 383 thousand people have died. At the same time, according to Rosstat estimates, 820 thousand people have died in the country since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic - the statistical service takes into account cases where the coronavirus was not the main cause of death.

The incidence of coronavirus in Russia began to grow again from the second half of July. If more than 28 thousand cases were detected over the past day, then on July 15 the figure was at around 4.4 thousand. At the same time, the level of herd immunity in the country is 7.4%.

The HEAD of Tatartan, Rustam Minnikhanov, announced the day before, on August 13, that they could re-introduce the mask regime in institutions of all forms of ownership.

“Given the increase in the incidence, despite the earlier decisions to suspend restrictive measures, for the time being I recommend introducing a mask regime in the labor collectives of organizations and institutions of all forms of ownership,” Minnikhanov said.

At the same time, Rospotrebnadzor stated that at the federal level the situation with the incidence is not critical and there is no need to introduce restrictions.
