In Russia, for the first time in four days, less than 50 thousand cases of COVID were detected

Over the past day, 46,488 cases of CORONAVIRUS infection have been recorded in Russia, according to the operational headquarters. The last time less than 50 thousand infected per day was detected on September 7, then the number of cases was 47.9 thousand people.

Most cases of infection were registered in Moscow (5133) and St. Petersburg (3471). The number of cases per day over 1 thousand people was recorded in Samara (1715), Sverdlovsk (1525), Voronezh (1489), Irkutsk (1209), Tyumen (1066) and Nizhny Novgorod (1131) regions, Krasnoyarsk (1073) and Perm (1275) ) edges, as well as in Udmurtia (1100).

“An increase in the incidence was noted in 53 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, including in 27 regions, an increase in the incidence of more than the national average,” the report says.

1.8 thousand people were hospitalized with covid-19 , which is 15.4% less than the day before, the operational headquarters notes. 35.6 thousand Russians have been discharged from hospitals. 81 deaths have been registered.

According to the headquarters, the rate of hospitalization per 100,000 people over the past week was 16.0 and decreased by 4.6% compared to the previous week. At the same time, the incidence rate of coronavirus per 100 thousand population over the past week amounted to 229.5 and increased by 3.45% compared to the previous week.

The incidence of COVID-19 in Russia began to rise in mid-July, after the removal of all anti-coronavirus restrictions. Rospotrebnadzor explained this process by the spread of more contagious subspecies of the omicron strain and recommended wearing masks if the weekly incidence rate exceeds 50 cases per 100,000 population. 

The authorities of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Dagestan, Tatarstan, Kemerovo and Nizhny Novgorod regions and Khakassia listened to the recommendations of the department. In the republics of Altai and Buryatia, as well as in the Jewish Autonomous Region, the wearing of masks was introduced.

On September 2, Minister of HEALTH Mikhail Murashko warned of an increase in the incidence of COVID-19 in the near future. He noted that this situation is typical for September, when Russians return to the cities, children go to school, and the activity of the population increases. Rospotrebnadzor rejected the idea of ​​introducing mandatory covid restrictions.
