Russia records less than 1,000 deaths from COVID for seventh day in a row

The last time more than 1,000 deaths from coronavirus infection per day was recorded on December 23.The maximum number of deaths per day for the entire period of the epidemic was noted on November 20, 2021 - then 1254 people died

Over the past day, 21,073 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection have been diagnosed in Russia, the operational headquarters reports.

Of those previously ill with COVID, 926 people died per day. Within a week, less than 1,000 deaths from COVID per day have been recorded in the country.

As Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko said on December 28, 547,000 people are currently being treated for COVID in Russia, of which 126,000 are in hospitals.

According to the minister, 17 thousand patients are in serious condition, 4.2 thousand patients are connected to artificial lung ventilation devices.
