App store NashStore will appear in Russia: how it can work

ANO "Digital Platforms" plans to launch a domestic application store NashStore for Android. The organization was created to develop digital platforms, disseminate "best practices" in the regions of Russia and in foreign markets, including the EAEU and BRICS countries.

As ANO CEO Arseniy Shcheltsin explained to RBC, in May it is planned to release the start catalog in the alpha version of the application. At the first stage, the platform will look more like an application showcase than a full-fledged store: applications cannot be downloaded “in one click”. What applications will be available in the store in May, Shcheltsin did not specify, he only noted that mainly financial and banking services are more interested. The size of the necessary investments in the creation of the store and the sources of its financing are not disclosed.

Who will have access to NashStore

According to Shcheltsin, the owner of a smartphone on the Android operating system will have two app stores: Google Play and NashStore. The second store will appear after buying a phone on which NashStore was pre-installed, or after updating the operating system, if there is a corresponding agreement with its owner, Google.
