Vaccination of pets against COVID-19 began in Russia

In some regions of RUSSIA, vaccination of pets against covid-19 has started, the ROSSELKHOZNADZOR said in a statement .

"The day before, the first batches of the world's only Karnivak-Kov vaccine, developed by Russian scientists of the Rosselkhoznadzor to prevent the disease among animals, were delivered to Russian cities," the ministry said.

Vaccination is carried out on the basis of private and public veterinary clinics that purchased the vaccine from the manufacturer, the Federal Center for Animal HEALTH. The Rosselkhoznadzor said that clinics record an increased interest in vaccination among citizens “with an active civil position”, as well as among breeders, frequently traveling pet owners and those whose animals are on their own.

A drug for animals that protects them from CORONAVIRUS was registered on March 31. Clinical trials began in October 2020, with the vaccine being tested on dogs, cats, arctic foxes, minks, foxes and other animals. Deputy HEAD of Rosselkhoznadzor Konstantin Savenkov claimed that antibodies to coronavirus were produced in 100% of cases, but scientists continued to study the duration of immune protection.
