In mid-July, against the backdrop of an increase in the incidence of CORONAVIRUS, the demand of Russians for rapid tests for covid-19 increased by 36% compared to the same period in June, follows from the message of the First OFD (fiscal data operator, part of the VTB group), received by RBC.
The number of such tests sold by pharmacies served by the First OFD in mid-July amounted to 3660, which is 61% more than in the same period in June. At the same time, sales increased by 36%. However, these figures have not yet come close to the level of last year, and on average, pharmacies sell 18% fewer rapid tests daily than a year earlier.
VTB also recorded an increase in demand for the services of medical laboratories offering PCR tests for coronavirus. Over the past week, it has increased by 10% compared to the previous one, the bank's customers have spent more than 16 million rubles for these purposes. Nevertheless, last year the demand for such services was almost twice as high.
