Russia will change the rules for issuing foreign passports

In RUSSIA, from May 30, new rules for issuing foreign passports will come into force. This is reported by "Parliamentary newspaper" with reference to the relevant order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The changes will affect citizens living abroad. To obtain a document, they will have to come to Russia. At the same time, the terms for issuing a passport have not changed: at the place of registration, a citizen will receive a document within a month from the date of application, and at the place of residence - within three months.

Passport data was added to Russian COVID-certificates Society

The changes also affected cases of loss of a foreign passport. Now the right not to pay the state duty for a lost or worn-out passport can only be obtained by Russians who find themselves in an emergency situation. The rest will have to pay two thousand rubles for the restoration of an old-style passport and five thousand for a new-style document, Parlamentskaya Gazeta specifies.

In early April, passport details were added to Russian COVID-certificates. According to Oleg Kachanov, Deputy HEAD of the Ministry of Digital Development,
a service has been launched on the State Services portal to automatically generate certificates of vaccination against CORONAVIRUS in English.
