HEAD of the Ministry of HEALTH Mikhail Murashko said that in recent years, those infected with the coronavirus infection COVID-19 have developed lung damage faster than before. “If earlier we saw that lung damage developed somewhere by the sixth or seventh day, today such a pronounced lung lesion can occur already by the third or fourth day,” he explained.

The accelerated development of the disease, according to Murashko, must be taken into account in the treatment. “Antiviral therapy, early start of treatment make it possible to get out of this disease with minimal health losses, and often save lives,” the minister added.

Murashko noted that COVID-19 as a whole began to spread more strongly than before, becoming "a more highly contagious disease." At the same time, the symptoms of the disease have also changed - patients now have more “intestinal manifestations”, as well as problems similar to those that occur with tonsillitis and other diseases.
