Rospotrebnadzor announced plans to create a biochip to detect COVID

Scientists of the Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology. I.N. Blokhina of Rospotrebnadzor are working on creating a prototype biochip to detect pathogens of community-acquired pneumonia, including the SARS-CoV-2 virus, according to the agency’s website.

“It is planned to characterize the regional features of the etiological structure of community-acquired pneumonia, taking into account which a prototype DNA biochip will be developed,” the report says.
