Rospotrebnadzor identified a sign of vascular complications due to COVID

“Patients in the acute period of COVID-19 showed a significant increase in endothelin-1, which can be used to assess the state of the vascular endothelium and determine the risk of vascular complications in patients,” Rospotrebnadzor said.

They explained that the highest rates were in those patients whose condition deteriorated sharply. The level of endothelin-1, a peptide marker of vascular disorders, was also increased in those who had contact with infectious patients. However, in patients who began to recover, the indicator was already within the normal range.

The day before, the HEAD of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency, Veronika Skvortsova, said that the number of complications after COVID-19 is increasing, thrombosis, cardiovascular diseases, and mental disorders are detected in those who have recovered from the CORONAVIRUS.
