Rospotrebnadzor estimated the timing of stabilization of the situation with COVID-19

it will be possible to talk about a downward trend in the incidence of covid-19 no earlier than the beginning of August, said Alexander Gorelov, Deputy DIRECTOR for Research at the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He expressed this opinion to TASS.

Gorelov recalled three phases in the development of the epidemiological process: growth, stabilization and decrease in the incidence, each lasting about a month. Now there is a gradual transition to the phase of stabilization of the situation with CORONAVIRUS, he said.

“Since an active increase in the incidence began in the first ten days of June, now we are gradually moving to a stabilization phase, which will last throughout July and, probably, early August. And only then, perhaps, it will be possible to talk about a trend towards the beginning of a decrease in the incidence,” Gorelov said.

Such an optimistic assessment of events will be valid provided that citizens are conscious of vaccination and that the population complies with anti-epidemic measures, the scientist emphasized.
