Rospotrebnadzor called the symptoms of coronavirus in children

When infected with CORONAVIRUS, children may experience a complication visually similar to frostbite - the so-called "covid fingers". This was stated by Deputy DIRECTOR for Research of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor, Chairman of the National Scientific Society of Infectious Diseases Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Gorelov in an interview with RIA Novosti.

“In general, in addition to respiratory phenomena, minors may experience disruption of the gastrointestinal tract, and after suffering covid, there may be problems with the kidneys, liver, cardiovascular system, organs of the respiratory system,” he said.

He added that a symptom of covid-19 such as pneumonia occurs more often in children over the age of seven, and the lungs of adolescents can be affected in the same way as in adults.

According to Gorelov, children under the age of one and adolescents are more severely affected by the coronavirus. This category also includes children with chronic somatic pathologies or congenital malformations.
