The chief sanitary DOCTOR of the Rostov region called the epidemiological situation of covid-19 in the Don region "extremely difficult". The HEAD of the Don department of Rospotrebnadzor announced this during an online briefing.

“If we talk briefly about the assessment of the epidemiological situation in the region, then it is extremely difficult. We daily record more than 600 cases of infection per day, we also see that all territories of the Rostov region are included in the epidemiological process, ”he said.

According to Kovalev, Rostov, Shakhty, Taganrog, Novocherkassk, Novoshakhtinsk became the leaders in terms of the growth rate of the incidence in the previous weeks.

“The situation with regard to the main risk groups has again returned to the one that was in the last wave. The maximum incidence over the past two weeks among people over 65 years of age. We also note that the rate of immunization has decreased compared to the summer period. We also see that this entails consequences in the form of the maximum incidence among people from 30 to 49 years old. The incidence among children has also begun to increase since September,” he added.

Recall that a number of new anti-COVID restrictions have been introduced on the Don. In particular, from October 28 to November 7, the work of public catering, some trade, sports and leisure facilities will be limited in the Rostov region.
