Rospotrebnadzor named the number of Russians vaccinated against influenza

In Russia, 68.1 million people, or 46.6% of the country's population, were vaccinated against the flu, the press service of Rospotrebnadzor reported.

According to the agency, the flu vaccination campaign is almost completed. Epidemic thresholds for influenza and SARS have been exceeded in 20 Russian regions.

Rostec announced the timing of the release of a single vaccine against COVID and influenza Society

In October, the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, warned Russians that two new flu strains would appear in the country in the fall and winter. “They are new, people in the Russian Federation have not met them before, therefore, they need to be protected from them, we have no immunity,” she said. Two new variants are included in the influenza vaccine.

At the same time, the Ministry of Health allowed simultaneous vaccination against coronavirus and influenza. According to the agency, preclinical studies of the combined use of Sputnik V and the influenza vaccine showed that the immunogenicity of both vaccines is maintained. However, drugs must be administered to different parts of the body, such as the left and right shoulder.
