Pridnestrovie announced the prevention of a new terrorist attack

In Pridnestrovie, another terrorist attack was prevented at the television and radio center in the village of Mayak, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the unrecognized republic reported on TELEGRAM. The agency also published a photo of the drone, with which, according to its data, they were supposed to organize a terrorist attack. Attached to the drone were explosives and a radio device that was supposed to serve as a detonator. The drone has been neutralized.

“The drone with a diameter of one and a half meters is assembled from various components,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said. it was stuffed with 2 kg of plastid and carried a five-liter container with an incendiary mixture. In total, the drone could carry a load weighing up to 20 kg and cover a distance of up to 30 km.

“A drone with such a dangerous cargo, according to experts, was launched from the Ukrainian side,” the ministry said.

Who could be behind the attacks in Transnistria Politics

At the end of April, a series of explosions took place in Transnistria, which the authorities of the unrecognized republic called terrorist attacks. Explosions occurred near the building of the Ministry of State Security in Tiraspol and in the village of Mayak, where two antennas of the center that relayed Russian radio were disabled. A military unit in the village of Parkany was also attacked.

On April 26, the authorities of Transnistria introduced a red level of terrorist threat. They considered that the attacks were carried out by unknown people who illegally arrived from Ukraine.

Moldovan President Maia Sandu, in turn, said that the explosions are connected with "different forces inside Transnistria" that are interested in destabilizing the situation.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky considered that Russia is “trying to destabilize” the situation in the region . Moscow regarded these incidents as terrorism and an attempt to involve the region in what is happening in Ukraine.

Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the HEAD of the office of the President of Ukraine, said that Chisinau should turn to Kyiv and Bucharest for help in resolving the conflict in Transnistria. According to him, in this case, the Ukrainian forces will be ready to take the unrecognized republic under their control.

However, the Moldovan authorities, in response, stated that the solution to the conflict in Transnistria would be achieved only through the negotiation process, and not by force.
