In St. Petersburg, they threatened not to let people into transport without masks and gloves

The city leadership said that the number of cases is growing there. The Vice Mayor reminded that in less than a month in St. Petersburgthe first match of the European Football Championship will take place

Vice Governor of St. Petersburg Maxim Sokolov instructed to strengthen measures to combat the spread of CORONAVIRUS infection in public transport. He wrote about this on his page on the social network VKontakte.

“Passengers without personal protective equipment may be denied transportation. Do not neglect your HEALTH and take care of others. We will do everything in our power to cope with the new challenge - to extinguish the negative dynamics at the initial stage. Let's take care of each other!" the official wrote.

Sokolov explained the decision to strengthen security measures by the approaching start of the European Football Championship, during which St. Petersburg will host seven matches (the tournament starts on June 11, the first game in St. Petersburg will take place on June 12). The Vice Governor recalled that several matches in RUSSIA were moved from Ireland, where the epidemiological situation did not allow the games to be held in the arena in Dublin with spectators.

“The honorable right to host Euro 2020 matches is the common merit of the people of St. Petersburg, who managed to endure the forced lockdown restrictions and accustomed themselves to comply with the recommendations of Rospotrebnadzor. We are all waiting for the next stage of lifting restrictions, but so far the number of cases is growing, ”Sokolov admitted.
