Petersburg plans payments for pensioners for vaccination against CORONAVIRUS. As Governor Alexander Beglov said at a meeting of the city government, the “veteran community” approached the authorities with a proposal to stimulate vaccination against covid for the elderly. As Elena Fridrikova, acting chairman of the city committee on social policy, said, this issue has already been worked out with the HEALTH committee.
“If we support financially all citizens over 60 years of age, then this will require additional funds of more than 2 billion rubles, if we start supporting citizens over 65 years of age - 1 billion 769 million rubles,” Elena Fridrikova cited the calculations. According to her, taking into account the end of the financial year, the issue of payments from the budget should be postponed to the next year, and the payments themselves should be timed to the Victory Day.
As Dmitry Lisovets, chairman of the St. Petersburg Health Committee, explained, to date, 646,665 residents aged 60 and over have been vaccinated against covid-19 , which is 50.5% of the total population of this age group subject to vaccination. Governor Alexander Beglov instructed two Smolny committees to work out the issue of financial incentives for vaccinations. The amount that St. Petersburg pensioners can receive for vaccinations was not named at the government meeting.
There is already experience in material incentives for vaccination in our country. As RBC reported, on October 13, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin signed a decree on monetary compensation for vaccination against coronavirus. Muscovites over 65 who get vaccinated with the first component or undergo revaccination before December 31 will be able to receive 10,000 rubles. To receive the payment, they must apply to any city social service center. Previously, elderly Muscovites were given only “Caring for Health” gift sets for vaccination, which includes vitamin complexes, a blood pressure monitor and a pulse oximeter, a cosmetics set, a pill box, medical masks, antibacterial gel, etc. More than 240,000 pensioners received them.
